1. YOUR JOB IS NOT YOUR HOME:
You should always remember that the company or organisation you work for will never be your “second home”, no matter how much time, effort and energy you put in. At times, you do not even get rewarded for your performance. You won’t find love and affection at your workplace. This is not “Home sweet Home” but this is the reality of the workplace!!
Like I told you, this is not home where your parents will be distributing cakes equally among children. You will see people; lazy people….VERY VERY lazy people being awarded managerial position and who will even be having the guts to command you later on. This is where you will develop something that will help you for the rest of your life and that is… patience.
3. WORK CAN’T GET INTO YOUR HOME:
Since your job sucks, there is no way you are going to bring work stuff at home. Work is work but family time is surely much more valuable. This is one of the many good habits that you can develop throughout your whole career. When you are at work, you work! It does not matter if you getting more work done in the same amount of time than your colleagues who probably are rewarded more than you but at least you have become so efficient that you do not allow your work to get into your family life.
4. COLLEAGUES = FRIENDS????
Your workplace is where you will learn this harsh reality. Not all your colleagues are your friends. You may meet only one or two friends out of a hundred of colleagues. Good friendship are not easily made because most people are really selfish and prefer see you down so that they can climb up the ladder before you. You will learn about betrayal and injustice. However, you need to be strong emotionally and when you are already aware of this reality, nothing will influence you and prevent you from moving forward.
5. DON’T QUIT
You will definitely learn one of the basic principles of life in regards to one’s job. DO NOT QUIT your job no matter how much you hate it because this is your INCOME. You cannot neglect this truth. You quit only when you get a better offer but until then…you STAY!! You may be stressed at first but with time, you will be able to manage that stress and turn it into something much more powerful. You will start to develop qualities in you that you never had in the past. You will become strong and will know how to keep standing in the battlefield of work. In addition, you will no longer fear what kind of future boss or managers or colleagues you might have around you since you are now fully equipped with the qualities and skills necessary to deal with any kind of people.
IN SHORT, YOU WILL GROW…
